Introduction to Painting - 6 Week Course

Ideal for novices eager to grasp the basics of acrylic painting, this course offers an intimate learning environment with small class sizes. Led by Robert Brown, a former university painting instructor and professional practicing artist.

Beginning on Sunday the 12th of May 2024

Running weekly for 6 weeks

Course fee: $390

- Learn to work with acrylic paints

- Explore colour theory

- Experiment with different painting styles

- Cover topics like brushwork, texture, and composition

- Explore various painting techniques including layering and blending

By the end of the six weeks, you'll have developed your painting skills, gained confidence in your abilities, and hopefully, found a new passion for acrylic painting!

All materials are included, including a quality set of paints and brushes to keep so that you can continue your creative endeavours at home after the course.


Robert Brown

Robert’s work explores the resonances of space, light and colour afforded through painting and drawing. His subjects, including landscape, still life and portraiture, respond to diverse personal local and further afield experiences. Robert is an experienced visual arts university lecturer who has taught painting to adults, ranging from introductory to advanced studies. Robert completed his visual arts practical training at the University of Melbourne and in 2014 achieved his doctorate with a focus on artists working with young people.
